The Combustion Institute has recently approved three programs for the 2024 CI-Summer Schools initiative. Based on a strict review of submitted proposals, comprehensive programs were approved for Princeton University (United States), Xinjiang University (China), and Darmstadt (Germany). The CI-Summer Schools initiative provides interested parties, mainly graduate students and postdoctoral researchers, the opportunity to receive an intensive educational experience. Specific dates and further details about the 2024 CI-Summer Schools will be posted on the CI’s Events Calendar.

The CI-Summer Schools initiative was established to promote scientific education that corresponds with the combustion-related needs of society. Student participants meet world-leading scientists and work to build their own international network. The Combustion Institute, in cooperation with host organizations around the world, assemble summer school programs to harmonize and promote the global growth of combustion science and technologies. The Combustion Institute would like to thank the CI-SS Committee, chaired by Dr. Osamu Fujita, for its hard work in selecting the 2024 CI-Summer Schools.

Proposals for 2025 summer school programs are due by 31 May 2024. The Combustion Institute invites universities, sections, and other qualified organizations to submit their proposals in accordance with the defined policies. The proven success of the CI-Summer Schools initiative continues to foster the next generation of combustion scientists. More information about the program and application guidelines can be found here.
