2024 Spring Technical Meeting of the Eastern States Section of The Combustion Institute
Bringing together experts from industry, national laboratories, and academia in the field of combustion science and engineering to address current challenges related to sustainable transportation, energy efficiency, emissions mitigation in the atmosphere, fire safety, and advanced propulsion systems by dissemination of state-of-the-art research.
- Submission Dates:
- 1 November 2023 - Submissions Open
- 9 February 2024 - Extended Abstracts Due
- 16 February 2024 - Initial Technical Program Released
- Registration Dates:
- 1 November 2023 - Registration Beings
- 8 February 2024 - Early Registration Deadline (23:59 EST)
- 7 March 2024 - Online Registration Deadline (23:59 EST)
Extended Abstracts can be up to five pages in length and highlight the results of the study to be presented at the meeting, including a brief review of relevant background and methods, key figures, and results; preliminary results are welcome and encouraged. Acceptance of the abstracts for presentation will be based on soundness and completeness of the study, as presented in the extended abstract, with the expectation that the abstract is a representation of the material to be presented at the conference. Only one review will be performed; there will be no chance for revision and resubmission after submission.
Papers should be submitted to one of the following colloquia:
- Computationally and Data-Intensive Research
- Detonations and Supersonic Combustion
- Diagnostics
- Fire Research
- Flame-based synthesis and nanomaterials
- Heterogeneous Combustion/Spray and Droplets
- IC Engines, Gas Turbines, and Rockets
- Laminar Flames
- Novel Energy Conversion Techniques
- Reaction Kinetics and Fuels
- Soot and Other Combustion-Generated Aerosols
- Turbulent Flames
Plenary Speakers:
- Prof. Tim Lieuwen (Georgia Tech)
- Prof. Jillian L. Goldfarb (Cornell University)
- Dr. Sibendu Som (Argonne National Laboratory)
With registration, lunch and dinner are provided on Monday and Tuesday (11-12 March). As such, it is requested that you provide information on your dietary preferences using this form by 19 February 2024. Those who do not fill out the form by this date will be assigned vegetarian meals.
