2020 Spring Technical Meeting of the Eastern States Section
The 2020 Spring Technical Meeting of the Eastern States Section of The Combustion Institute will be held 8-11 March in Columbia, South Carolina. The meeting will be hosted by the University of South Carolina (USC) at the Alumni Center.
The event will consist of an opening reception, plenary seminars, technical talks, and a banquet event to be held at the USC Alumni Center, 900 Senate St, Columbia, SC 29201. For more details, please visit the University of South Carolina conference website.
Attendance at the 2020 Spring Technical Meeting of the Eastern States Section of The Combustion Institute shall be governed by the Code of Conduct found on the ESSCI event website.

Abstract/Paper Submissions
Prospective authors should submit an abstract of 150 to 300 words online at The Combustion Institute website by 15 January 2020. Decisions on acceptance will be transmitted to the authors by 17 January by the ESSCI Program Chair, Paul Papas of United Technologies Research Center (UTRC). Full papers of at least 5 pages in length are to be submitted electronically and will be distributed to all registrants. Presentation of papers is contingent upon having an electronic copy of the accepted paper received by 3 February 2020.

Irvin Glassman Young Investigator Award and Lecture
ESSCI is now accepting nominations for the sixth Irvin Glassman Young Investigator Award and Lecture for the 2020 ESSCI Spring Technical Meeting. Please email nomination packages to wenting.sun@aerospace.gatech.edu before 23:59 Eastern Time, Wednesday 15 January 2020.
At the time of the nomination due date, nominees must be a young investigator within seven years (degree received after Jan. 15th 2013) of their Ph.D. and, for tenure-track faculty appointments, the nominee must be untenured by the time of application. Nominations and/or self-nominations should consist of a nomination letter and CV for the nominee highlighting their contributions, including publications, in the combustion field. The nominee should be affiliated with an institution in the Eastern States at the time of the nomination. The awardee will receive waived registration, a travel award of up to $1000 to attend the ESS meeting, and a $500 honorarium to give the Irvin Glassman Lecture as one of the plenary or invited topical talks.
