Beginning in the spring of 2019, the Proceedings of The Combustion Institute will transition to a new team of Editors. With the completion of Volume 37, Prof. Alison Tomlin and Prof. Volker Sick will conclude their terms as Editors.

Prof. Alison Tomlin joined the Department of Fuel and Energy at the University of Leeds in 1994. Her research interests cover a range of combustion topics and she is interested in the development of methods for tracking uncertainties with model predictions. This made her an excellent choice to move from Associate Editor to Editor as preparation started for Volume 35 in 2014.  During the last six years, she has provided attention to detail to each paper she handled.

Prof. Sick has been with the University of Michigan since 2005. In 2013 he was recognized as a Arthur F. Thurnau Professor for his dedication to students. With the changes required for PROCI to continue as a journal in 2008, Prof. Sick agreed to serve as one of the original editors. His dedication and commitment to the quality of the journal over the past 12 years is deeply appreciated.

We are grateful for their dedicated service and advice as we review and update the processing on a biennial basis. Their understanding of the workflow and insistence to find new ways to handle the workflow has improved the process for everyone involved.

We are pleased to welcome the new Editors, Prof. Terese Løvås and Prof. Dan Haworth. They will serve six-year terms and work with Volumes 38-40.  Their dedication to the combustion community and commitment to high standards will continue the quality and high standards for PROCI in the years ahead.

Prof. Løvås has been the Professor and Head of Thermal Energy Research Group at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology since 2009.  She currently serves as the President of both the Scandinavian-Nordic Section and the Federation of European Sections of The Combustion Institute. She joined PROCI as an Associate Editor in 2014 and began service as  a member of the Editorial Board for Combustion and Flame in 2017.

Prof. Haworth has received several awards for his excellence in teaching and academic advising in his years at The Pennsylvania State University. His has served as an Associate Editor for over 12 years with Combustion and Flame and was one of the initial Associate Editors with PROCI in 2008. His understanding of publishing will provide valuable insight as we work to improve the workflow in EES.

We welcome Prof. Løvås and Prof. Haworth and look forward to their service in these important roles.
