The Combustion Institute Board of Directors convened a regular meeting on 26 March 2020. Several topics were discussed, and decisions made regarding multiple CI programs. Refer to the summary below for points of interest that concern the international combustion community.
Approval of Minutes
The minutes from the Board of Directors regular meeting that convened 31 October 2019 were formally approved.

Site Proposals for the 40th International Symposium on Combustion
The Board was presented with six proposals for the 40th Symposium to be held in 2024. Discussion will proceed and a final decision will be made in July 2020.
Delay of 38th International Symposium on Combustion
The Board also reviewed and accepted the recommendation to postpone the 38th Symposium due to the worldwide safety and health concerns raised by COVID-19. Additional Board Meetings will be held to further discuss the impact of this delay and other remaining Board issues and concerns.
Combustion Institute – Summer Schools
Due to safety and health concerns, several of the CI-SS sessions have requested delays. Visit the events page of the CI website for the most up-to-date information.
