Events held by sections and affiliates of The Combustion Institute assist in our objective to promote and disseminate research activities and information in all areas of combustion science and technology. We are pleased to showcase the successes and contributions of our members among our international community of combustion scientists and practitioners.
The 2021 European Combustion Meeting, hosted by the Italian Section of The Combustion Institute, took place virtually from 14 to 15 April 2021. Chaired by the Italian Section Chair, Fabrizio Scala, this was the first ever virtual edition of the European Combustion Meeting.
The meeting was attended by 329 delegates from 29 countries, and consisted of five plenary lectures on a wide range of fundamental and applied combustion topics by invited speakers Prof. Hai Wang, Prof. Reinhold Kneer, Dr. Nabiha Chaumeix, Prof. Guillermo Rein, and Prof. Maria Abian. In addition, there were a total of 257 posters presented during the 29 poster sessions. Eight best poster awards were assigned to brilliant young researchers presenting their poster during the ECM.
Members responded positively to the interactive virtual poster format. The organizers would like to thank all who contributed and participated to make this meeting a great success!
