The Combustion Institute and Elsevier have been working together as changes in technology and publishing have identified areas for improvement. We are pleased to announce that effectively immediately, there is a new pricing arrangement for color figures in both Combustion and Flame and the Proceedings of The Combustion Institute. The old pricing was a per page price of US $974, no matter how many figures were on the page. The new pricing structure will charge authors a fee of US $333 per figure that is printed in color. Online color will continue at no additional fee. Additionally, CI staff will continue to work with authors publishing in PROCI to identify their color requirements while providing the best possible pricing.
The Editors and Associate Editors of Combustion and Flame have begun training on Elsevier’s new publication software, Evise. They will make requests for updates and changes as they identify concerns during this process. Once they are satisfied with the process, the transition will be made. Authors submitting to CNF should see changes to the submission site in the fall.
It is important to note that the submission and publication process for Volume 37 of Proceedings of The Combustion Institute will not be changing. There is no timetable or discussion about moving PROCI from EES to Evise.
