Beginning 1 February 2018, Judit Zádor, Sandia National Laboratories, United States, will launch her six-year term as the Associate Editor for The Combustion Institute journal, Combustion and Flame. Dr. Zádor will be one of six Associate Editors for the journal, and she succeeds James A. Miller, Argonne National Laboratories, United States, who has served as Associate Editor since 2006.

Dr. Zádor is a senior member of the technical staff in the Combustion Chemistry Department at Sandia National Laboratories. In 2006, she completed her Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry at Eötvös University, Hungary, and then spent a year working on discharge flow experiments at the Chemical Research Centre of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, mentored by Dr. Sándor Dóbé. In 2007, she accepted a position at Sandia in the Combustion Chemistry Department, under the supervision of Dr. Craig A. Taatjes and Dr. James A. Miller, studying a wide variety of combustion relevant elementary reactions, mostly using theoretical methods. Dr. Zádor was hired as a senior staff member in the Combustion Chemistry Department in 2010.

Although Dr. Miller is stepping down from his role at Combustion and Flame, he continues in other aspects of his combustion science career. Dr. Miller is currently a senior scientist and consultant for Argonne National Laboratories, United States. His long and distinguished career, and his 12 years as Associate Editor (two six-year terms), has helped to advance the journal as a critical scientific source for combustion research. The close working relationship between Dr. Miller and Dr. Zádor at Sandia ensures the journal will continue to be edited to the highest standards within the energy journals.

Combustion and Flame publishes high quality work from experimental, theoretical, and computational investigations on the fundamentals of combustion phenomena and closely allied matters. Questions regarding Combustion and Flame may be directed to: Office@CombustionInstitute.org.
