In September 2017, The Combustion Institute approved three comprehensive programs for the 2018 Combustion Institute-Summer School initiative at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia, Princeton University, United States, and Tsinghua University, China. Graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and other interested parties are encouraged to attend CI-SS programs. Participants will have the opportunity to receive an intensive educational experience.

Class dates: 1-7 April 2018

The Combustion Institute-Summer Schools initiative was established to promote scientific education that corresponds with the combustion-related needs of society. Student participants meet world-leading scientists and work to build their own international network. The Combustion Institute, in cooperation with host organizations around the world, assemble CI-SS programs to harmonize and promote the global growth of combustion science and technologies.

Proposals for 2019 Combustion Institute-Summer Schools are due no later than *31 May 2018. The Combustion Institute invites universities, sections, and other qualified organizations to submit their proposals in accordance with the defined guidelines. The proven success of the CI-SS initiative continues to foster the next generation of combustion scientists.
