Members of The Combustion Institute Tellers’ Committee and President Katharina Kohse-Höinghaus have validated the 2016 Board of Directors elections results. From a slate of 10 candidates, five directors were elected by the membership, including two of the four candidates from industry. The new directors represent the geographically diverse sections of the Institute, and come from academia, government labs and industry.

The Board of Directors manages the affairs, property, and interests of The Combustion Institute. Directors make a great commitment of time and energy to the international combustion community. Each director’s service is greatly appreciated.

The election of directors is conducted biennially prior to the International Symposium on Combustion, with each director serving a six-year term. Newly elected directors joined the board to begin their term of service at the conclusion of the 36th International Symposium on Combustion in Seoul, Korea.

Candidates were recently notified of the election results. A public announcement was made in Seoul, Korea during the symposium.
