The Combustion Institute has recently approved two programs for the 2017 CI Summer School initiative. Based on a strict review of submitted proposals, comprehensive programs were approved for Princeton University, United States and Tsinghua University, China.

Dates for the 2017 CI Summer Schools are as follows:

Princeton University: 18 – 23 June 2017

Tsinghua University: 19 – 25 July 2017

The CI Summer Schools initiative provides interested parties, mainly graduate students and postdoctoral researchers the opportunity to receive an intensive educational experience. Student registration details for the programs will be available in the early spring of 2017.

The CI Summer Schools initiative was established to promote scientific education that corresponds with the combustion-related needs of society. Student participants meet world-leading scientists and work to build their own international network. The Combustion Institute, in cooperation with host organizations around the world, assemble summer school programs to harmonize and promote the global growth of combustion science and technologies.

Proposals for 2018 summer school programs are due no later than 31 March 2017. The Combustion Institute invites universities, sections, and other qualified organizations to submit their proposals in accordance with the defined policies. The proven success of the CI Summer Schools initiative continues to foster the next generation of combustion scientists.
