The Call for Papers for the 39th International Symposium on Combustion has been released. Program Co-Chairs (PCCs)HdR Bénédicte Cuenot, CERFACS, France, and Nils Hansen, Sandia National Laboratories, USA, have led the process to form the foundation of a successful symposium. The paper submission process, combustion colloquium categories, and colloquium teams are now set for the symposium.

With this symposium, an additional process will be implemented, in which every submission is screened for suitability for presentation and publication by an assigned Colloquium Coordinator (CC) or Colloquium Co-Chair (CCC) who is a subject matter expert of the manuscript’s research area. The PCCs will consider their advice in selecting manuscripts for peer review. More information about the process can be found in the Call for Papers. Acceptance for presentation at the symposium is not a guarantee of publication in the Proceedings of The Combustion Institute.

Work-in-Progress Poster (WiPP) sessions will be scheduled to run concurrently with oral presentations of accepted papers. Selection of WiPPs are determined on the basis of a one-page abstract. A full-length paper is not required, and WiPPs will not be published in the Proceedings of The Combustion Institute.

Paper submissions must be received by the deadline of 23:59 PST, 05 January 2022. WiPP abstract submissions must be received by the deadline of 23:59 PST, 04 May 2022.

The 39th International Symposium on Combustion will convene in Vancouver, Canada from Sunday, 24 July through Friday, 29 July 2022. The biennial symposium provides a scientific venue for sharing ideas and experiences on the development and applications of combustion science. As an internationally recognized city, Vancouver offers our combustion community world-class opportunities to interact with scientists and companies in an exciting and dynamic environment.

Questions regarding the symposium may be directed to office@combustioninstitute.org.
