The Combustion Institute is pleased to announce that the Elsevier Editorial Manager (EM)  is open for manuscript submissions for the 39th International Symposium on Combustion. The deadline for submission of completed works is 23:59 PST, 5 January 2022. Formatting of manuscripts is different from past symposia, including the switch from a word limit to a page limit. Instructions, guidelines, and templates can be found in the Instructions to Authors for Manuscript Preparation.

Every submission will be screened for suitability for presentation by an assigned Colloquium Coordinator (CC) or Colloquium Co-Chair (CCC) who is experienced and an expert in the colloquium topic. The Program Co-Chairs (PCCs) will consider their advice in selecting manuscripts for peer review and those to be rejected without peer review. The PCCs will make the final selection of papers for presentation based upon the quality and scientific rigor of the submission, taking into consideration the reviewer comments, rebuttal information provided by the author, and colloquium team comments. Additional information about the decision process, Work-in Progress Posters (WiPPs), and combustion colloquium descriptions, can be found in the  Call for Papers  for the 39th Symposium.

Instructions on how to submit a manuscript in Editorial Manager (EM) can be found on the 39th Symposium website. If you have not activated your Editorial Manager (EM) account, you must do so prior to submitting your manuscripts to PROCI. Inability to access your account will not be accepted as a reason for failed submissions. Also, please allow yourself adequate time to create and submit your manuscript within EM. Manuscripts that are not “built” and “submitted” by the deadline on 23:59 PST, 5 January 2022, will not be accepted for consideration.

The 39th International Symposium on Combustion will convene in Vancouver, Canada from Sunday, 24 July through Friday, 29 July 2022. For more information on the symposium, the beautiful city of Vancouver, traveling to Canada, and much more, visit the official 39th Symposium website.
