news94Dear fellow combustion scientists,

I hope that the year 2013 has started well for you, and the Combustion Institute office, my team and I wish that it may be a good, healthy, peaceful and successful year for you and yours. Depending on your location, you may have looked at some fireworks when celebrating the turn of the year – and maybe you have even thought of combustion when you admired the night sky with this illumination.

The Proceedings of the Combustion Institute (PROCI 34) are now being published, and you will see your articles with page numbers online shortly and/or receive your ordered copies of the CDs or printed volumes.

While the last issue of PROCI still features (figurative) wet ink, it is already time to plan well ahead for timely submission of your best combustion work to the next Symposium. The Program Chairs, Suk Ho Chung and Thierry Poinsot, the Editors of PROCI and Combustion and Flame, and the Executive Committees have discussed the Symposium timing with an attempt to allow more time for meaningful reviews. The submission date for the 35th Symposium has been fixed to

DECEMBER 5, 2013 – with no extension period.

Please mark your calendars accordingly!

With best wishes,

Katharina Kohse-Höinghaus

President
